"The cover art looks like it is some Ian Svenonious-led project like Nation of Ulysses or Make Up. The guitar work is just as loud and noisy but the vocals are much different. It's much higher-pitched, giving the band a much different sound than NOU. Like NOU, or Make Up, the Black Eyes also fit perfectly on Dischord. It's quality art noise to play pretty for baby. High points: Ian MacKaye produced, leaving little margin of error. Low points: It's too stereotypical. While being on Dischord separates their sound from most bands out there, the band does very little to separate themselves from other Dischord bands."
